'Intertainment is the new Entertainment’

The UK is heading for a baby boom, as the credit crunch is forcing couples to entertain themselves at home.
People have limited cash to splash at pubs and restaurants so are spending more time in the bedroom.
Sales of maternity clothes rose by nearly half last week.
And chemists have reported a boost in sales of pregnancy testing kits and libido boosting remedies — proving that while the banks are in trouble at least the bonk-rate is up! So Says the Sun Newspaper – the UK’s best selling newspaper
Research in the last few months suggests that all over the world people are staying in and spending money in- home rather than going out to bars, restaurants and cinema’s.
Restaurants, dance clubs and pubs are all being hurt by the financial crisis. Luminar Group Holdings, the UK’s biggest nightclub owner, said a decline in sales had accelerated since September as more people stayed home on Friday nights.
British, French and Italian consumers are reducing spending at bars, restaurants and cinemas faster than anyone else as recession, plunging stocks and rising unemployment grip Europe. But staying in can be an opportunity for some companies - such as Internet dating site Meetic and video-game seller Digital Bros SpA.
Home entertainment is one of the last things Europeans will cut back on, along with cigarettes and alcohol, a Nielsen survey showed.
“Staying in has become the new going out,” says Tarlok Teji, a partner at Deloitte & Touche in Leeds, England, who oversees research on the UK retail industry.
“Heading to clubs, bars and restaurants for lavish events is over for many of us. It’s a mega-trend and it’s here to stay.”
At Christmas, Britons will spend an average of US$194 on socializing, 12 percent less than last year, according to Deloitte. It seems that the shift to “intertainment” will drive companies to offer more family-oriented services, so are your customers reflecting this shift ?.
I understand that Domino’s Pizza UK & Ireland Plc, Britain’s largest pizza-delivery chain, recorded an 8.8 percent increase in third-quarter sales as more people ordered its pizzas, which cost as little as $7.56.
I believe “It’s the return of nesting,”
I am interested to know whether printers have been targeting new business in sectors which focus on the home? Any comments from the wide network ?

There might be opportunities in creating a removable wallpaper. You can think of: Christmas themes, party themes etc. to enlighten home parties (think of printed wallpaper with a smell....). Or environmental friendly, re-usable pizza boxes. Durable wall paper solutions: removable wall-tattoos to create a baby room and when 'baby' grows change the theme of the room ;-).
