Hi Konstantin,
For applying an sufficient pretraetment onto different kinds of fabric, you need an application device such as a common padding unit or a spray unit (e.g. from MS, Italy).
After application/coating you have to dry the fabric in a stenter frame or the like, including a heat set process.
I will provide you with appropriate information via seperate mail including a general pretreatment recipe recommendation and machinery. But please note that printing flags and banners requires always making a compromise between image quality and penetration. It will be very tough to achieve the same results in direct inkjet printing than you know from screen printing in terms of through-printing, particularly of pale shades.
Do not hesitate to contact me at muth.mathias@dystar.com
Best regards,
Mathias

Hi all,

Andrea, thanks for your suggestion,
but my point is different.
Due to the coating equipment makes possibility to varietis of fabrics and tricots.
Many my customers ask me for other than d.gen kinds of fabrics.
Many of them ask me for printing onto their own fabrics.
I know, this is possible when i use a calender, but ihave direct printing machine.
Please, make me a quotation for PM-180 on: printex@mail.bg
Thanks a lot

Hi guys,
I've formula for pre coating and will be cheap than buy liquid from Huntsman; but, as far as I know, for your applications I can suggest both buy a pre-coated media,it will be cheap than invest in pre coating equipment and have a chemical guy follow it.

Ciao,
Andrea.

Hi Magnus,
Is good to hear a profi comment for important things.
When we buy the Zimmer the digital textile printing was in the begining.
But now in my country the orders from my customers stay most "fullcolur, halftones"
and with little volumes, than in the past.
Now we cannot satisfied or market without digital printing technique.
In my opinion it`s hard to make decision what kind of pretreatment chemistry using.
I see lot of suppliers, but if you know good brand plese, make a proposal.

Hello Konstantin.
I think you should follow D-Gens advise.
We left zimmer 10 years ago and ride free on printer, ink and steaming equipment.

It takes a lot of effort to be good in all areas.

pree treated material is avalible at many companys today, so I suggest
That you buy samples and test out yourself.

A good calibration equipment is of very good use.

But dont forget that nothing is better than the weakest link.

Hi Dear all,
I`m very glad to read your deep discussion regarding digital textile printing.
I`m for sure in your team.
Just see: i`m in the textile printing from 27 years ago.
We have a beautifull Zimmer screenprinting machine, but we now sell it.
Because of the great digital printing technology.
From one year ago we have D.gen, and i am really surprised of the possibilities of this method of printing.
i would like ask you alltogether for the technology, equipment and recipes for pretreatment for polyester weaved and knitted fabrics.
Can you help?

well to add - this should not sound like a sales talk first of all. product specfic information will limit the information.

i would say - basic understading is a must for digital textile printing
any digital textile printing would required following
1. pre treated fabrics (if not in capacity to pre coat inhouse then to buy it from different sources) - question arrives , why do we need pre coated fabrics? in very simple terms it is just to hold the ink drop on to the fabric surface and not let them spread at uneven speed( we all should know that natural fibers have unequal absorption due to the fact of mixing blending of differnt variety of lots.)

2. selecting the equipment for printing - this is entirely dependent upon how much confidence you get from the machineyr supplier. first of all digital textiel printing machines are very delicate and so you must be chosing a supplier which has credential to service it at any given time.
3. color managemen - offcourse when you buy a machine/ get it installed/ then comes the color part. profiling of digital textile printers is of utmost important. fabrics change so your colors also change. need to understand profling to be able to do profiling at your own is very handy. so chose a software which is best recommended for achieving wider gamut in profiles.

Finishing part - steaming/washing/drying/ironing and then packing. these are the steps that sound easy but they really are not. one need to develop skills on the steaming/washing side as each fabric/ ink plays a key factor at different speed/temperature of the steaming machins or washing machines. again best equipments are chosen based on their expertise with digital textile printers.

there are variety of suppliers and i dont know a single one who could provide a vertical setup. again setup should be chosen based on their experience in fabrics/inks/softwares.

regards.

Does anyone have any idea about Mimaki GP-604D? Specifically interested to know more about their 'D' model with the discharge solution??
